GMB Welcomes News Of Community Support For Croydon Hospital A&E
It's time the government woke up to what an asset they have in the million plus workers who keep our health service going says GMB.
GMB, the union for health workers, responded to the news that “Over half of people treated in Croydon University Hospital's accident and emergency department are "extremely likely" to recommend the department to a friend.”
Andy Prendergast, GMB Senior Organiser said, “This satisfaction survey speaks volumes as to the hard work and dedication of the staff who work there.
At a time when more and more people are attending hard pressed accident and emergency departments, it is the staff who keep them going through thick and thin. Too often the workforce are blamed for the failures within the NHS when then fact is that they are usually the ones succeeding in spite of real terms cuts in funding and constant attacks from those who seek to profit from the avalanche of outsourcing. It's time the government woke up to what an asset they have in the million plus workers who keep our health service going.'
