Facility offers high quality training for union members.
GMB is proud to announce the launch of a new activists’ centre in Cleckheaton at the site of the former Labour Party HQ, Tom Myers House on Cross Crown Street.
The centre will offer a range of high quality training from fully funded adult apprenticeships and NVQ programmes to distance learning courses and has a state of the art IT suite set-up by GMB’s Life Long Learning Project.
The centre will also offer a resource and support facility for GMB activists, reps and members so they can drop-in when the need arises.
GMB Branch Secretary, Cath Pinder, said:
“GMB and the local Labour Party have drawn up an agreement to resource and support this new facility.
Learning should not stop after leaving education or whilst in employment and we will be engaging with people both in work and those looking for work through this fantastic facility. This is a win-win situation for the GMB, Labour Party and the local community."
The centre will be officially opened by Batley & Spen MP Tracy Brabin and GMB Regional Secretary, Neil Derrick on:
Saturday, 3rd December 2016 at 1pm.
(Tom Myers House - 9 Cross Crown Street – Cleckheaton - BD19 3HW)
We welcome GMB activists, members and the local community to come and join us on the day to see this fantastic new facility.
