GMB women across the UK are joining in local events set up to mark International Womens Day 2014 on Saturday March 8th.
International Women's Day is marked on March 8 every year to celebrate women's economic, political, and social achievements.
Kamaljeet Jandu, GMB National Equality and Inclusion officer, said “Over three hundred thousand women members of GMB welcome the opportunity to participate in marking International Women's Day for 2014.
Many women across the world remain vulnerable and exploited. In the UK, women have been in the frontline against this Government's austerity measures and deregulation of labour market.”
