GMB support Lewisham Hospital demo on Saturday 26th Jan to stop just one A&E centre for 750,000 residents.
The effect of the proposed cuts to Lewisham hospital and the NHS in South East London will costs lives says GMB.
GMB is supporting the march in Lewisham tomorrow 26th January as the decision by the Secretary of State for Health on the future of Lewisham A&E is due at the start of February.
GMB is calling on members and the public to keep up the pressure to show Jeremy Hunt the massive opposition to the proposals to close Lewisham Hospital A&E, Intensive Care and some children and maternity services as recommended by the NHS Administrator.
The details of the protest are as follows:
12 noon on Saturday 26th January 2013.
Lewisham Roundabout (by the station)
past Lewisham hospital
to Mountsfield Park
for rally, music and giant petition
Andy Prendergast GMB Senior Organiser said “GMB is asking members and the public to support the demonstration on Saturday with GMB flags and placards.
We need to march again to defend ourselves from having just one A&E for 750,000 residents.
The effect of the proposed cuts to Lewisham hospital and the NHS in South East London will costs lives.
People will have to travel further for worse services, what's happening exposes the lie that the NHS is safe in Tory hands”.
