GMB secures £9.15 per hour living wage for patient transport staff at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Woolwich.
Members are very pleased that lengthy negotiations have resulted in an up to 40% pay rise for G4S staff from 1st June 2015 says GMB.
GMB, the union for staff in the NHS, has secured a living wage of £9.15 per hour for staff at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich who provides transport for patients. The service is provided by G4S. The new deal kicks in on 1st June 2015.
Emergency medical technicians employed by G4S on the same contract also receive a 16.6 % pay rise.
In a separate dispute at the hospital over 200 GMB members, employed by ISS as cleaners, security, ward hostesses, caterers, on the switchboard and as porters, suspended strike action after the employer tabled an inflation busting pay offer which has now been accepted.
