NHS Pudsey Protest

GMB To Attend Protest At 2.30pm Today (19 March) To Coincide With Visit By Jeremy Hunt Secretary Of State For Health To Pudsey Medical Centre

If the Tories are re-elected people would have more chance of winning the lottery than seeing police patrolling their streets or seeing waiting lists in the NHS coming down says GMB.

GMB will join with other trade unions at a protest demonstration outside Robin Lane Medical Centre in Pudsey from 2.30pm 19th March to coincide with a visit by Jeremy Hunt, Secretary of State for Health.

Tim Roache, GMB Regional Secretary, said “Jeremy Hunt, Secretary of State for Health has the audacity to turn up after yesterday’s budget in which he offered nothing on the future funding of the NHS.

The result will be more people paying to see their GP, longer waiting lists and more privatisation: in effect, the end of the NHS as we know it.

What the Tories are planning is the most draconian cuts in services that we rely on for a civilised way of life.

If the Tories are re-elected people would have more chance of winning the lottery than seeing police patrolling their streets or seeing waiting lists in the NHS coming down.”
