GMB Comments On Sale Of Staffordshire Tableware Manufacturer
We will be in contact with the new owner to discuss his intentions for the firm and our members says GMB.
GMB, the union for workers in the manufacturing industry, commented on the sale of tableware manufacturer Steelite International to PNC Riverarch Capital.
Steelite was formed in 1983 from Royal Doulton’s hotelware division. The company generated sales of over £100m in the year to 31 December 2015 and won a Queen’s award for enterprise in 2013.
Wendy Grieveson, GMB Organiser, said "I understand that the company will not be making any redundancies but are waiting for this to be confirmed.
I will be in contact with the new owner to discuss his intentions for the firm and our members. I believe he is fully onboard with keeping the production within England and wants to grow the ceramic industry."
